Our love for the mediterranean was born decades ago and began when my grandpa purchased his first home abroad and shortly after my parents did, too. I spent all my childhood summers in Spain, splashing in the pool, meeting new friends and learning horse riding.

So when D – who also spent his childhood summers in Spain – and I met over our shared love for our favourite spanish town, it was fate, which lead to us getting married 10 years later and eventually to us buying our first home in the south.

When we bought our very first home ever – in Spain of all places – we were only 20-ish and so very proud of our achievement. We started renting it out to holiday-makers, making it a business, and of course spending all our vacation time at our favourite place.

Eventually we started to grow. And with us our visions and wishes. So we started dreaming up everything we wanted in the perfect house, and what we came up with in 11 years worth of manifesting you can see here: the delano montesinos came straight out of our wildest dreams. Built onto a plot just 200 meters away from the old house in our very favourite location.

We didn’t just want a holiday home but a real home, with everything we loved from our german home and more. We wanted the comfort, the ameneties and the quality, but also the bigger garden, terraces and the pool to truly make use of the year round great weather, the sunshine and the incredible light, which oftentimes is scarce when living in northern Europe, even more so in winter.

We got into serious planning with our builder – who we found in 2019 – in 2021. This was the year where everything suddenly fit and the stars aligned for us. We found the perfect plot, we knew exactly what we wanted in the new house and from there we went.

In September we found the plot, until December we hammered out the contracts, signed in February of 2022 after double and tripple checking everything, 21st of July we broke ground and on 12th of June of 2023 we made the big move into the brand new house. That was the most exciting and most exhausting year of our lifes so far. We still pinch ourselves whenever we realize that from now on we are able to spend our holidays and every other free second in our absolute dream house. And so are you – we’re opening the house every summer for guests, to spend your holidays on the beautiful Costa Blanca in Spain to experience our mediterranean hideaway!
